The University of Arizona Center for Middle Eastern Studies and Critical Languages Program (CLP), with institutional partner University of Texas-Austin Center for Middle Eastern Studies, are offering an online Kurdish Kurmanji course this summer. According to Ethnologue.com, Kurdish Kurmanji is used by almost 15 million people, mostly in Turkey and neighboring countries. Kurdish is not frequently taught at US universities so this is a rare chance to earn college credit while you learn this language.

This course has been planned and developed as an online course from the start so students won’t have to worry about curriculum adaptation problems. Full details on how to register can be found at https://cmes.arizona.edu/kurdish/online(link is external). Scholarships for CLP fees may be available.
