What is the role of literature, poetry, music, and mythology in our life?

A conversation in Persian with Professor Ahmad Sadri Author of: The Shahnameh, Epic of the Persian Kings, and Heroes Take Their Stand A Zoom Presentation Sponsored by: Iranian American Society of Arizona (IASAZ) and Kanoon

This open discussion and conversation consist of three segments. During the first part, we will have an open discussion about the role of literature, poetry, and heritage in the Persian community and its profound importance in our culture. The first question starts with: "why should kids and adults of all cultures read the Shahnameh?" The discussion will center around the importance of understanding the role, and contributions of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh in our modern day. During the second part, we will listen to Dr. Sari's motivation, intention, and the results of his two recent works to better understand the underlying forces that make us understand our ethical and cultural heritage. Finally, we will have a 20-minute open discussion of questions and answer with the audience.

He is the author of the English translation of selected sections of Shahnameh in collaboration with Hamid Rahmanian, as well as the work with the silk road Ensemble including Yo Yo Ma and Keyhan Kalhor titled "the Heroes take their stand"
