The film won a special award at the Cannes Film Festival this May. There is also an incredible story behind it about the writer/director Mohammad Rasoulof, who was sentenced to 8 years in prison by Iranian authorities due to the film's criticisms of the government, and he was forced to flee the country prior to the film's premiere.
